In the latest engagement survey, one of the most common themes was clear: employees want better communication—more clarity, more consistency, and stronger feedback. To support that, our leadership team participated in a session inspired by the DISC framework—a tool that helps people understand their own communication preferences and how to adapt to others. And now, you can try it too.

What is DiSC?

DISC outlines four primary communication styles:

• D-Dominance: Direct, results-oriented, and decisive
• I-Influence: Outgoing, enthusiastic, and persuasive
• S-Steadiness: Patient, supportive, and reliable
• C-Conscientiousness: Analytical, detail-focused, and precise

We all have a blend of these traits. Recognizing your dominant style can help you communicate more effectively and work better with others.

We found a free DiSC assessment; give it a try.

Now what? Put your results to work!

Here are three ways to use your DISC results right away:

1. Know your blind spots. Each style has strengths and things to watch out for.

• D: Do you slow down to listen?
• I: Do you follow through after brainstorming?
• S: Are you open to change when needed?
• C: Do you get stuck in perfection mode?

2. Try a flex. Think of someone you work with regularly. What does that co-worker need from you? More directness? More context? More patience? Try adjusting your approach just slightly and watch what happens.

3. Start a conversation. Ask your leader or team: “When problems need to be solved, how do I handle that?” How can I adjust to be more effective? Use that starter as a springboard to talk about how these styles can help all of us work better together.

Every style has a place at ConGlobal

Brant reminded us at the leadership event that every DiSC style is welcome at ConGlobal. That’s worth repeating.

Being a strong communicator isn’t about having a dominant personality or a single approach—it’s about understanding yourself and making space for others. Whether you lead with data, energy, consistency, or bold action, your contribution matters.

Let’s celebrate the variety of styles that help ConGlobal thrive—and commit to building stronger communication across all of them.
