At ConGlobal, safety isn’t just a priority—it’s the foundation of everything we do. In 2021, we took a bold step forward, partnering with DEKRA, Inc., a global safety consulting firm, to assess the key factors influencing terminal safety performance. That assessment set the stage for transformative change, identifying work streams that would help us elevate our safety culture and performance across all lines of business.

We’ve built on ConGlobal’s strong foundation of safety creating a culture of care and accountability. We established an Executive Safety Council and streamlined our approach by developing a unified set of safety pillars for all lines of business. These simplified, actionable guidelines reinforce the safe behaviors that drive consistency across our terminals, depots, and finished vehicle operations.

2024: A Year of Consistency and Dedication

Our progress in 2024 was a direct result of our commitment to consistency. One of our key initiatives—the 1:1 Safety Observation Program—became a cornerstone of our approach. Every month, managers observed team members in safety-sensitive positions, providing real-time feedback, praise for safe behaviors, and coaching opportunities. To make these observations as effective as possible, we developed custom templates tailored for each business unit—Auto, Rail, and Depot—ensuring that managers could identify relevant risks and exposures in their unique work environments.

We also expanded our use of Predictive Safety technology, rolling out Alert Meter assessment to all non-union rail and auto locations. This real-time readiness tool helps ensure our employees are mentally and physically prepared for the demands of the job. In 2025, we’ll continue this momentum by deploying the program into our depot business.

A Best-Ever Safety Performance

Our relentless focus on safety paid off in 2024, delivering record-breaking results:

🏆 Total Recordable Incident Rate (TRIR): 1.98 – A world-class result and our best-ever performance!
🏆 Lost Time Rate: 0.41 – Another firm best-ever achievement!

Initially reported at 2.04, our TRIR was later recalculated to 1.98, reinforcing just how far we’ve come in building a safer, stronger ConGlobal. These numbers aren’t just metrics—they represent lives protected, injuries prevented, and a culture of safety that continues to grow stronger every day.

Looking Ahead

While we’re proud of our achievements, we know that safety is a journey, not a destination. In 2025, we’ll continue evolving, expanding our Fit for Duty program, refining our safety observation processes, and reinforcing our commitment to care at every level.

To every team member who contributed to this success—thank you. Your dedication to safety is what makes ConGlobal an industry leader. Let’s keep raising the bar together!
